 
Company: Ericsson Telecommunications Romania Division: GSDC Department: ADM (Applications Development and Maintenance) Job Description General: - The BMP SI Test Engineer will be responsible for planning, preparation, scripting, execution and analysis for Intec SingleView Billing application (formerly ADC) & immediate upstream/downstream interfaces/applications including Intec Mediation (Intermediate), Interconnect, & Payment Gateway among others various software applications; - The position holder shall be able to give advice related to different business scenarios and also actively work with improvements within own area. The BMP SI Test Engineer will work together with development teams to improve the quality of software applications. Ericsson GSDC is providing support for mobile operators world wide. Besides the traditional mobile networks equipment, Ericsson is providing support to 3rd parties as well like in this case, the billing, mediation and payment systems from Intec (www.intecbilling.com). Responsabilities: - Development of test plans based on analysis of requirements and design/system documentation - Development of test cases based on analysis of requirements and design/system documentation - Peer review / Unit Test Cases & Test Report review / Witness Unit test if needed - Execution of requirements-based test cases testing (system integration testing) - Possible involvement in designing performance and functional / regression automated scripts / application level support to be provided to Automation Test Team - To be able to create test data as per the requirements received from other System Integration testing teams - Interfacing with all other engineering disciplines, as well as reporting to the team lead / project manager (Liaison with 3rd Party’s & development teams and other parties as appropriate) - Filing of defect reports against software failures and retest when fixed (HP Test Director-Defect Manager v8.0) - Storage of execution results in the common test harness database and production of various reports based thereon - Generation of Statement of Verification Report (Test Report) mapping all requirements to test cases and their results. Requirements: Technical - Minimum 2 years testing experience with good knowledge of the testing strategies (Waterfall, V Model), deliverables, processes & procedures - Unix - user level command line (HP UX, Solaris) - data structures – general SQL DML (SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE statements) - understanding Oracle PL/SQL - general knowledge of networking protocols - general knowledge of application servers (Weblogic, Tuxedo, JBoss)/ XML-RPC / SOAP messaging, 2-3 tier architecture, EAI (Enterprise Application Interface) - Experience with Billing, Mediation, Interconnect, Payments applications - Knowledge of typical telecom industry standard software and business processes - Experience testing and troubleshooting software in general, data bases, and web applications. - Ability to design, implement, and maintain a test setup in a lab environment - Ability to maintain simulators, log parsers, automated tests, and GUI frameworks - Willingness and ability to gather clues about problems to assist the design team in isolating problems - Knowledge of software development technologies Java or/and C++ Education - University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline Others - Fluent English (spoken and written) - Availability to work detached abroad or trainings, mainly European countries, 2-3 months per year - Ability to interact with a multi-location team regarding test status and defect tracking.
