Job description:
- Communicate with internal/external clients regarding hardware issues - Diagnose technical problems, provide multiple-level onsite and offsite advice and support to end users to resolve fault areas as needed Install, repair, maintain a wide variety of branded IT equipment (Intel Servers IBM, HP, FS, Dell) - Collect and interpret error messages, and escalate to next level support - Manage on-site and on-call (help desk) service issues, and escalate to next level support - Assemble, install add-on, upgrade and configure computer & servers hardware and peripherals - Micro code upgrade hardware devices such as HDD, HBA, Mainboard, SCSI CTRL - Perform emergency as well as scheduled system and network maintenance in accordance with company IT policies and procedures to ensure reliability, availability and security - Install and start up IT equipment configurations for infrastructure projects
Requirements:
- - University Degree in Computer Science, Informatics or equivalent - 4+ years of experience in: • Operating Systems (Linux and Windows – work station and server) installation, basic configuration, updating and troubleshooting • Installation, RAID configuration, and maintenance of at least 2 brand name server platforms • Peripherals (such as local and network printers, and scanners) installation and configuration • Laptop and work station hardware/software installation, configuration and maintenance • Backup and restore, disk cloning and partitioning knowledge - 2+ years of experience in: • Network device (routers, switches, firewalls, Virtual LANs, DMZ’s) installation, configuration, routing, and zoning - Proactive problem-solving attitude and skills - Good command of English (written and spoken) - Ability to meet strict deadlines - Sound communication and interpersonal skills - Clean driver’s license and ability to travel - Applicable certifications - Basic AIX OS installation and minimal configuration - Storage environment installation, RAID configuration and LUN definition experience
